OUR HIRING PROCESS



STEP 1: APPLICATION + INTERVIEW



Complete an application online or in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 3 pm. If your application meets our hiring requirements e.g. licenses, experience, education, etc., our Director of Human Resources (DHR) will invite you to an in person interview.



STEP 2: REFERENCE CHECK



Upon successful completion of the initial interview with the Director of Human Resources, Alpha Security will contact your previous employers to verify past employment. This ensure that we only hire mature, responsible men and women with stable employment history, and prior work experience.



STEP 3: SECOND INTERVIEW



After completion of the initial interview and previous employment verification, if found favorable, the candidate will be invited to a second interview with the Director of Operations and the Vice President.



STEP 4: SELECTION + OFFER



During the final interview, our Director of Operations and Vice President will determine if the prospective candidate meets our standards and qualifications. At this time, a conditional offer of employment may be extended.



STEP 5: BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION



Once the candidate has accepted the conditional offer of employment, the employee must submit to a drug screen and a background check. Each employee will be administered a Maryland State and/or Commonwealth of Virginia fingerprint background check prior to assignment to verify a background free of criminal convictions.


Alpha Security conducts its own background investigation through a national computerized network which allows us to obtain an immediate check on criminal history, social security number verification, driving records and any professional licenses held.



STEP 6: TRAINING



Once a candidate has successful passed their drug screen and background check, a final offer of employment will be extended. The new employee must then complete a seven-hour Security and Motivational Training Program before being assigned for duty. After completing our in-house training program, the new hire is given on-the-job training during his/her first tour of duty.


We believe that an intensive, proactive class, where all trainees are encouraged to participate, is the most effective method of instruction. At the completion of each training block, a question and answer session is provided to help clarify any question or misunderstanding the student may have regarding the training. Additionally, each officer must pass an examination at the conclusion of each training block before moving on to the next session. A score of 75% is required before the officer can enter the next training block.
